BOATING
Excellent all-weather and all-tides ramps for boat launching
and retrieval are provided at Port Welshpool and Port Albert. Good
launching ramps are also available at McLoughlins Beach and Manns Beach,
although difficulties may be experienced in adverse weather or low tide.
Beach launching for dingies and small boats is possible at Robertsons Beach.
Boat-based camping is provided for at several localities.
FISHING
Shore-based fishing depends heavily on land access.
The most popular spots are at jetties at Port Welshpool, Port Albert, Robertsons
Beach, Manns Beach, and McLoughlins Beach. Surf fishing is excellent in
the channels at Woodside Beach and Reeves Beach, which are good access
points to the Ninety Mile Beach. For further information contact the Natural

AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL
The town and district supports Aussie rules at all age
and skill levels.
There are four teams in the district: Yarram, Allies,
Woodside and Southern Suns, represented in two leagues.

BUSH WALKING
Tarra Territory is a bush walker's paradise, with a seemingly
endless variety of walks of all distances. The Tarra-Bulga National Park
has several magnificent tracks through the fern glades. Hiawatha is also
a delightful region top walk. There is also a recently constructed track
that stretches for 11.3 km from Stockyard Point at the Port Albert foreshore
right through to Seabank at the Old Port. Most is through natural coastal
flora, with several places to stop and view the birdlife of the Nooraminga
marine and Coastal Park. Information is available from the Department of

GOLF
Situated just three kms from the township, the Yarram
Golf Club has eighteen magnificent fairways and greens blended into the
natural bush surroundings. No need to wait for your game, simply
roll up and play. Green fees are very reasonaable on the fully watered
course. It is not often that you can enjoy so much wild life whilst taking
in a leisurly game, and the mobs of kangaroos have become legendary. Yarram

SQUASH AND TENNIS
There are excellent courts at Yarram and Woodside, with
night lights at Woodside. Squash courts exist in Yarram but they are closed
at the moment, waiting a buyer.

Yarram has its own airstrip at Parkside, but no aero
club.
TEAM SPORTS
Football, cricket and basketball and netball all have
a strong following in the town.
